Tai Chi

Gentle exercise to unwind your stress improving your concentration and health.

The Wu style of Tai Chi taught is renown for its health and healing benefits. The form consists of a series of slow movements which exercise every internal organ, joint, ligament, tendon and muscle in the body. This relaxes the mind and body, giving your system an internal massage. The movements are internal (they are designed to effect your internal organs, joints etc rather than for how they look).   The internal simplicity of the form produces the soft, graceful slow movements which attract so many to Tai Chi.  Energy circulation improves power, vitality, harmony and sense of well being. The 3-5 minute short form is suitable for modern living as most people do not have the time or space to practice the long forms.  Wu Jien Chuan, the founder of Wu style Tai Chi taught Liu Hung Chieh who in turn passed the form on to Bruce Kumar Frantzis.  Recognising a need in the west for a shorter form requiring less space and practice than the original long form Bruce Frantzis developed the short form under the guidance of Liu.  At Insight we focus on the health and healing benefits of the form, introducing the meditative side in advanced classes.
